“Greek ‘Mac Optic’ plans to establish a holding company in Egypt named ‘Mac Holding.’

Dr. Ahmed Radwan has been appointed as the Regional President for Africa for the Global Initiative to Combat Suicide and Drugs and as an ambassador for the initiative in Africa for a period of two years starting January 2021.

The initiative focuses on combating the issues of suicide and drug addiction, which are considered major social challenges, especially among youth.

Founded in 1995, Mac Optic operates in several countries, including Cyprus, Bulgaria, Canada, and Iraq, with key activities in cement production, food supply, medical supplies, refining, and other economic sectors.

The company aims to invest in the Egyptian market across several fields, notably education, media, and healthcare.

Commenting on his presidency of the initiative, Dr. Ahmed Radwan stated that he will work in the upcoming period to achieve the initiative’s objectives at the regional level.

He added that campaigns, meetings, and awareness seminars will be held to raise awareness among groups affected by the issues of suicide and drug addiction.

Radwan emphasized that focusing on the psychological and cultural aspects, as well as developing and rehabilitating these groups, are crucial factors for the success of the initiative.

It is noteworthy that Al-Mal newspaper previously reported on Mac Optic’s plans to establish a holding company in Egypt named ‘Mac Holding,’ which will encompass several subsidiaries operating in four investment sectors: banking, media, education, and healthcare, with a paid-up capital of $100 million.”
